Guild Of Music Supervisors Holds Second Annual Awards Brunch

-

The GMS Awards nominees.
The Guild of Music Supervisors (GMS) held its second annual Grammy Day brunch on Sunday to honor the best music supervision in film, TV, games and trailers. The Guild was founded in 2008 to recognize the unique role that music supervisors play in the creative production process, and in the second year of its awards show, it has expanded its sponsors and the number of awards categories.

“The event was yet another great success and we had the opportunity to expand our categories and recognize and award more great work in music supervision,” said GMS president Maureen Crowe. “GMS continues to grow because members, elected leaders and all involved believe in the organization’s mission and the significant contribution we give to each story, whether it be in film, television, games or trailers.”

“The recognition and support the GMS provides is something that is long overdue and well deserved for this community. We are proud to be a part of it,” said Wende Crowley, VP of film and TV music, Sony/ATV Music Publishing, one of the awards sponsors.

“Music supervision is a skill that you get better and better at the more experience you have,” said Liza Richardson, music supervisor. “I’m horrified when I think back on my first projects and the mistakes I made! So I’m honored to be part of a group who are recognized as experienced professionals. I’m part of it because I hope that studios and producers will favor hiring Guild members.”
