Makeup Artist and Hairstylist Symposium Scheduled for Feb. 26

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences will present its annual Makeup Artist and Hairstylist Symposium at the Samuel Goldwyn Theater in Beverly Hills, Feb. 26, starting at 2:30 p.m. The event will be followed by a gala reception.

The symposium will celebrate the Oscar-nominated films for Best Makeup in 2010 along with the nominated makeup artists and hairstylists vying for the award. Film clips presented by each nominee to the Motion Picture Academy during the nomination process will be shown. Afterward, the nominees will discuss their films and the processes involved in creating such artistry.

The Oscar-nominated films and artists are:

Barney’s Version, Adrien Morot, Makeup Artist

The Way Back, Edouard Henriques and Gregory Funk, Makeup Artists and Yoland Toussieng, Hairstylist

The Wolfman, Rick Baker and Dave Elsey, Makeup Artists
