Watch a Live Q&A with Kenneth Branagh on My Week With Marilyn

-

The Weinstein Company announced this morning that four-time Academy Award nominee Kenneth Branagh will participate in a live webcast Q&A from Sweden where he is currently on the set of Wallander. The event will take place today, Thursday, Dec. 8 at 2:00 p.m. EST.

Watch the rebroadcast below.

The Q&A will be streaming online allowing film fans across the country a unique opportunity to submit questions and participate in a discussion with Branagh regarding the making of My Week With Marilyn, working with the film’s terrific ensemble cast and Branagh’s own illustrious career. Additionally, fans can ask questions via Facebook and Twitter. The Weinstein Company hosted a similar event last year with the film The King’s Speech and had over 20,000 questions submitted in a 30 minute period during the Q&A.

In the early summer of 1956, 23 year-old Colin Clark (Eddie Redmayne), just down from Oxford and determined to make his way in the film business, worked as a lowly assistant on the set of The Prince and the Showgirl. The film that famously united Sir Laurence Olivier (Kenneth Branagh) and Marilyn Monroe (Michelle Williams), who was also on honeymoon with her new husband, the playwright Arthur Miller (Dougray Scott). Nearly 40 years on, his diary account The Prince, the Showgirl and Me was published, but one week was missing and this was published some years later as My Week with Marilyn – this is the story of that week. When Arthur Miller leaves England, the coast is clear for Colin to introduce Marilyn to some of the pleasures of British life; an idyllic week in which he escorted a Monroe desperate to get away from her retinue of Hollywood hangers-on and the pressures of work.

The film is currently in select theaters and opens nationwide on Christmas Day.
