Head Gear Films & Sparkhouse Media Launch Joint Venture

-

LR-HeadGearHead Gear Films and Sparkhouse Media have agreed upon a joint venture that will encompass all aspects of content development, production and finance for both film and television. The companies will partner on development and syndicated finance across Sparkhouse Media’s slate, as well as identifying 3rd party opportunities to co-finance and package.

The UK based Head Gear has reportedly supported over 30 film titles that are selling in the Cannes 2017 market, and has been involved in over 150 projects around the world over the past three years, including notable titles such as Black Mass, Freeheld, Trespass Against Us, War on Everyone, Where Hands Touch, Crooked House and The Man Who Knew Infinity.

In the last couple of months, Head Gear’s former head of finance, Tom Harberd, was promoted to chief operating officer, former associates Marlon Vogelgesang and Daniel Negret were promoted to investment managers, and Sara Bonakdar was added to the team from Film London.

Head Gear founder and CEO Phil Hunt stated, “10 years ago I began looking to expand my business into LA which culminated recently in finding the right partners in Karina and Talal at Sparkhouse–people who have the same principals about life and business that I have. Honesty, transparency, great at both creative aspects of the industry as well as business, and a great sense of fun too”.

LR-SparkhouseSparkhouse CEO Al Abbar added, ”Aside from the similar mindsets of both companies we are excited by the opportunity to further build upon our slate of quality and sensibility packaged material, whilst at the same time further expanding our ability to become a one stop shop production finance solution in this tough market.”

Karina Miller, Sparkhouse Media founder and president said, “Phil Hunt is an industry leader who lends genuine humanity to the entertainment industry. Head Gear Films and Sparkhouse Media are a perfect match as neither company is bound by traditional industry roles or aesthetics. We’re both doing things differently in order to stay mobile, flexible and available to our partners.”
