Patricia Gregory

February 15, 2008 | By Jack Egan

Patricia Gregory, the first female dolly grip, passed away on Nov. 7 at the age of 57. Gregory attained the position of dolly grip, still almost exclusively a male preserve, 15 years ago. For the last five years she worked on Gilmore Girls. “She was a role model for what she did. She was out there early on,” said Gilmore Girls producer Patricia Fass Palmer. “She was really special and she’ll be missed not just for her work, but for her presence on the set.”

Gregory’s other televisioncredits include Friends, St. Elsewhere and Remington Steele. She also worked on such films as Die Hard, Batman and Beetlejuice. Gregory is survived by Judy Gunter, her partner of 22 years, and her brother Bob.
