According to the California Film Commission, there are many new feature films that began production in the state including 18 projects (10 studio projects and 8 independent projects) that were announced for the tax credit program in April, which will contribute to an increase in the local Feature activity.

Scripted series is also bringing increases for TV Drama and TV Comedy production. Most of the losses have stemmed from the substantial decrease in TV Pilot, Web-based TV and TV Reality production in Los Angeles. Despite the drop from last year’s near-record highs, FilmLA’s research group expects local filming levels to increase as the year progresses.
