SMPTE Hollywood: April Meeting

-

SMPTE.logo (2)The Hollywood Section of SMPTE will be focusing on cybersecurity at its monthly meeting set for Thursday, April 25th, at the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, Los Angeles. With the large number of third-party vendors responsible for creating and housing pre-release content, there is a need for a consistent set of security standards and an effective means of assessing facilities, processes, and workflows.

The Trusted Partner Network (TPN) is a voluntary, industry-wide program spearheaded by the Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA) and the Content Delivery and Security Association (CDSA) with the support of the major Hollywood studios and content owners.

At the meeting, SMPTE Hollywood will host panels of experts who will describe current threats from cybercrime and a new effort to combat them. Security expert John Kronick will open the discussion by outlining the need for robust content security and describe the scope of the risk through real-world examples of cyberattacks. Guy Finley and Keith Ritlop, two of the architects of TPT, will discuss the organization’s formation and aims. The panel discussion to follow will add the perspectives of Convergent Risks executive Janice Pearson, TPN qualified assessor Juan Reyes, and Pixelogic Media security chief Rick Soto.
