Naida Graham, co-founder and co-publisher of Below the Line, is stepping down April 1 to pursue ventures in media and entertainment via her new production entity, Conshimfee Productions.
Graham launched the paper with co-founder and co-publisher Patrick Graham six years ago. During her tenure Below the Line experienced significant growth in circulation and advertising revenues, published special issues, and spun off the stand-alone publication For Your Consideration.
Graham has been a primary architect, along with BTL editor Peter Caranicas, of Below the Line’s singular editorial voice, designed to open better lines of communication between the above-the-line and below-the-line communities.
Graham is currently associate producer for Anthem Pictures’ Two: Thirteen, starring Mark Thompson, Teri Polo and Kevin Pollak. The feature was directed by Charles Adelman. Now in postproduction, the film is seeking distribution for a 2008 release.
Graham recently optioned the script for The Idaho Purchase, a satire by Dan Evans and Art Kradin, as well as a series of children’s time-travel books, Danger Boy, which she optioned from novelist Mark London Williams. The first script, based on the initial two books in a series of four, was written and will be co-produced by Tony Soltis.
At Conshimfee Productions, Graham will partner with independent producer and principal of Silver Heart Productions, Michael D. Jones, and former Variety colleague Victoria Cushey, who gained branding and marketing expertise at Mattel, Sprint and Activision.
