CineGear Expo ON AIR Pays Tribute to Still Photographer Douglas Kirkland

On October 28, CineGear Expo is presenting a special ON AIR tribute to still photographer Douglas Kirkland, whose body of work includes iconic images of famous artists Man Ray, Coco Chanel and Andy Warhol, as well as musicians Frank SinatraMick Jagger and Diana Ross, and an immense portfolio of actor and filmmaker portraits, including Marlene Dietrich, Audrey Hepburn, Marilyn Monroe, Leonardo DiCaprio, Charlie Chaplin, and many more.

The CineGear ON AIR™ panel, which will be available to view on Wednesday, October 28, at 11AM PDT, will focus on Kirkland’s 250 black and white portraits of cinematographers captured as part of Kodak‘s On Film ad campaign over the past 30 years, and some of those subjects will talk about being photographed by Kirkland.

Hosted by Richard Crudo ASC, the one-hour ON AIR panel will include words from cinematographers Steven Poster ASC, James Chressanthis ASC, Nancy Schreiber ASC, George Spiro Dibie ASC, Dante Spinotti ASC, AIC, Stephen Lighthill, ASC, Vittorio Storaro ASC, AIC, Don McAlpine ACS, ASC, and Reed Morano, ASC, DGA. Kirkland, his dynamic wife/partner Françoise, as well as son, Director Mark Kirkland, join the conversation from Kirkland’s studio.

The program will include photos, footage and classic interviews with Kirkland, who enjoys his sixth decade as a still photographer.
