Forev will screen tonight at the L.A. Film Fest.
In Forev, neighbors Pete (Matt Mider) and Sophie (Noël Wells) are traveling across the desert from Los Angeles to Phoenix when he gets up the nerve to propose. Tired of one-night stands, she impulsively accepts, even though the pair has never even been on a date. A simple drive to pick-up Pete’s sister (Amanda Bauer) at college becomes a quest to discover the meaning of love and commitment. The romantic comedy, Forev is a charming and laugh-out-loud road trip filled with unexpected detours on the road to growing up.

Meeting as undergrads at the University of Texas, directors Molly Green and James Leffler have been collaborating ever since on screenplays, web series, music videos and short fiction. In this interview with Below the Line, they share their experiences shooting their first feature film. Inspired to write the film by comedic actors and friends Wells and Mider (Second City, Cracked, Funny or Die, Siri Finds Out Steve Jobs Dies), they talk about how key collaborations with producers Stephanie Dziczek and Meg Charlton, director of photography Robert Edgecomb, post supervisor Hunter Hill, production sound mixer Michael Crosby, music supervisor Bianca Bhagat, composer Mychal Cohen and sound editors/re-recording mixers Herman Thumann and Ryan Sturup helped them achieve their vision for the film.

Forev will screen at 9:50 p.m. Wednesday, June 19, (88 min.) at the L.A. Film Festival.

Expanding on Below the Line’s popular Directors Series, senior writer/film editor, Mary Ann Skweres, and writer/cameraman, Bob Bayless, go behind the scenes at the L.A. Film Festival (June 13-23) to talk to directors about how their crew helped bring their films to the screen. Below the Line’s L.A. Film Fest Video Director Series is sponsored by Sony and Lightworks owned by EditShare, and produced in association with DreamStar Film & Music.
