Company 3’s Tyler Roth Colors Star Wars Campaign for Walmart

-

LR-Walmart_StarWars_PromoFrame2Company 3 senior colorist Tyler Roth provided color grading for Walmart‘s multi-spot Star Wars campaign via The Martin Agency. Encompassing 12 vignettes for broadcast and web ranging from 15-30 seconds, as well as a :60 anthem spot for cinemas, the campaign shows parents introducing their Star Wars fandom to a new generation. The anthem spot launched in theaters nationwide this weekend ahead of new releases including Spectre and The Martian, and will continue throughout the month alongside debuts of The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2 and Pixar‘s The Good Dinosaur.

Company 3 and Roth have teamed with The Martin Agency for numerous Walmart spots over the years. For the Star Wars campaign, Roth worked closely with the agency to develop a cohesive look across all spots while still capturing the unique tone of each vignette. Based in Company 3’s Chicago facility, Roth conducted virtual sessions with The Martin Agency’s team in Richmond, Virginia throughout the grading process.”Production used some beautiful anamorphic glass and we were able to push the richness and create a nice cinematic look for the spots,” explained Roth.

“It’s always a pleasure to work with Walmart and The Martin Agency, but this project was particularly memorable because I’m such a big Star Wars fan myself,” he said. “It was a lot of fun creating a look that would resonate with other fans.”
