The postproduction crew on WE TV’s Marriage Boot Camp staged a brief, nine-hour strike yesterday against production company Thinkfactory Media demanding IATSE representation. By the end of the day, the Editors Guild union reps had reached a deal with the producers allowing the crew to return to work.
The Motion Picture Editors Guild, (IATSE Local 700) has been aggressively trying to organize non-union productions in and around Los Angeles. Last fall, editors on Bravo’s Shahs of Sunset walked the picket lines for almost a month before they reached a deal with Ryan Seacrest Productions.
