Encore Welcomes Colorist Paul Westerbeck

June 23, 2011 | By Staff

Paul Westerbeck joins Encore.

Hollywood-based post facility Encore announced that Paul Westerbeck has joined its roster of colorists. Westerbeck comes to Encore after having spent 12 years at another top tier post facility, where he colored many visually stunning series, including CBS‘s CSI: Crime Scene Investigation and various seasons of that network’s CSI: Miami and CSI: New York. Other recent projects include CW‘s Nikita and TNT‘s Dark Blue.

“We are very excited to have Paul on our team,” said Bill Romeo, senior vice president of television for parent-company Deluxe Entertainment Services. “We have been aware of his work for a long time, and we recognize he has helped bring powerful, memorable looks to many incredible shows.”

“Encore has always been on the cutting edge of technology,” says Westerbeck. “I know that at Encore I will be working with an amazing team of artists and producers, and that makes me feel very comfortable.”

Westerbeck began his career as a colorist mastering feature films for video and broadcast. In the late 1990s, he transitioned into made-for-television series and movies, finding that technical and creative barriers were being broken in that sphere.

“It’s great to be able to collaborate with some of the best cinematographers and producers in the business and to work on shows that push the envelope,” Westerbeck says. “I look forward to doing even more of that at Encore.”
