Illuminate Hollywood has tapped Steve Galloway as senior vice president, business development. In his new role, Galloway will help expand the reach of the company’s iConform 4K conversion technology to content owners, and assist the company’s partners in forging new relationships.

iConform allows content owners to bridge their existing libraries with modern technology. Using a proprietary technology to bring SD programs up to the current HD and 4K media standards, the system is able to generate new life and revenue from dormant assets. Illuminate Hollywood has already remastered TV series for major studios and distribution companies such as CBS, 21st Century Fox and Universal Studios. iConform has been used to create the latest HD versions of many popular TV series, including The X-Files, 24, Star Trek: The Next Generation and Pee-wee’s Playhouse.

“The libraries of major film and television studios, independent producers and distributors are full of assets sitting idle when they could be generating significant revenues,” Galloway said. “This programming isn’t marketable because it doesn’t meet current HD broadcast standards. Illuminate Hollywood has clearly elevated the bar with iConform, giving content owners a new and economical way to transform top SD content into beautiful HD and 4K ready-to-go masters. I look forward to both sharing this solution and opening new distribution platforms for classic content globally.”

“Steve brings a great distributor’s understanding of intellectual property rights, acquisitions and cross-media licensing that will help our clients reach full revenue potential across the HD and ultra high resolution landscape,” said Steve Wiener, Illuminate Hollywood chairman. “He is the natural choice to connect our iConform solution with the individual needs of major studios, networks and indie content owners around the world.”

Prior to joining Illuminate Hollywood, Galloway ran his own consulting firm in Los Angeles and held senior executive roles in content acquisitions, licensing and distribution for A&E Home Entertainment, Cinedigm, eOne, Reelz Channel, Shout Factory, Nelvana and Universal Music Group. He is also a member of the Producers Guild of America (PGA), National Association of Television Program Executives (NATPE), National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) and the American Film Institute (AFI).
