LR-Call of Duty

Activision premiered a new trailer for its upcoming video game “Call of Duty: Black Ops III” during Sunday’s football games.

The 1:40 high-action piece, entitled “Seize Glory,” was helmed by director Wayne McClammy and features Michael B. Jordan (Creed, Fantastic Four, Fruitvale Station), Cara Delevingne (Suicide Squad, Paper Towns, Valerian) and Marshawn Lynch (Seattle Seahawks).

This is McClammy’s fourth spot for the “Call of Duty” franchise. A majority of the live-action was shot practically, rather than with visual effects, to bring a heightened sense of grit and realism to the spot. Academy Awardwinning director of photography Dion Bebe teamed up with stunt coordinator Darrin Prescott to lend a cinematic feel to each moment. The live action was shot over five days in an abandoned mall in Southern California.

The hero character of the film, Kevin, is played by Thomas Polk, who performed all of his own stunts, including wire work.

“Call of Duty: Black Ops III” puts players into a future world, where bio-technology coupled with cybernetic enhancements has given rise to a new breed of Black Ops soldier. The game will go on sale Nov. 6.
