Production Alert: Filming Restrictions in Monterey County

-

CaliFilm.logoThe California Film Commission has announced that there are now filming restrictions on Highway 1 in Monterey County due to the Caltrans highway widening project now in progress between Hurricane Point and Rocky Creek Bridge. Caltrans estimates road construction will last for three months. Film permits cannot be issued for this portion of the highway including Bixby Creek Bridge. Productions are advised to consider alternate locations on Highway 1 south of Ragged Point in San Luis Obispo County or north of Santa Cruz in San Mateo County.

Once the construction is completed, regular summer restrictions will be placed on filming activities on the segment of Highway 1 in San Luis Obispo and Monterey Counties between San Carpoforo Creek (SLO-1-71.3) and San Jose Creek (Mon-1-71.2) near Carmel Highlands through Labor Day (Sept. 2).  During this time period, intermittent traffic control (ITC), rolling breaks and/or lane closures will be prohibited.
