Manhattan Edit Workshop (MEWshop) has announced its next online event in its monthly Sight, Sound & Story: Live Online series, titled “From Editor to Producer: Making it Work,” which will take place on Wednesday,
September 16. It will take a look at the Editor/Producer relationship in scripted series with Emmy-nominated Insecure Editor Daysha Broadway & Producer Deniese Davis.
Sean Weiner will moderate the panel, exploring how emerging filmmakers can learn from Daysha’s and Deniese’s careers, discussing with Daysha how her past experiences editing documentaries and reality TV has informed her approach to scripted television. Denise will talk about her work on The Misadventures of Awkward Black Girl and her success at Peak TV. Both will discuss their relationship as Editor and Producer on the Emmy-winning HBO series Insecure and Emmy-nominated A Black Lady Sketch Show.
Attendees who register will receive a Vimeo link and password an hour before the event, which will take place on September 16 at 2pm Pacific/4pm Eastern. Besides getting admission, there will also be live raffles during the event for those that attend. You can register HERE.
All attendees who register for this event will receive a link and password to Vimeo Live an hour prior to the event. The event will be live at 2:00 PM PST/5:00 PM EST. This will gain free access for all attendees who register. There’ll be live raffles throughout the event, but attendees must be present to win.
