SIFF Announces Winners of First Virtual Film Festival

SIFF.23rd.logoComing from as far away as Västra Götaland, Hanoi, England, Canada, Copenhagen and Uttar Pradesh — the Sonoma International Film Festival’s first SIFF 2.0 Virtual Film Festival concluded yesterday with four Command Performance screenings. Celebrating its 23rd year, the online showcase screened more than 100 features, documentaries and short films from 20 countries, including 23 World, North American, US, West Coast and Northern California premieres.

And the winners are:

SIFF 2.0 Top Film Award Winners:
Jury Award Best Feature: The Quilt (India/France) Director: Rahat Kazmi, US Premiere
Jury Award Best Documentary: Elephant Refugees (US/Botswana) Director: Louise Hogarth, World Premiere
Audience Award Best Feature: The Conductor (Netherlands) Director: Maria Peters
Audience Award Best Documentary: Stage: The Culinary Internship (Canada) Director: Abby Ainsworth

Best US Independent Feature: The Artist’s Wife (US) Director: Tom Dolby
Best Animated Short: Preheated (US) Directors: Sarah Heinz/Luke Snedecor
Best Comedy Short: Flicker Free (US) Director: Ricky Lewis Jr.
Best Culinary Short: That’s My Jazz (US) Director: Ben Proudfoot
Best Documentary Short: Rewilding Honeybees (US) Director: Cameron Nielsen
Best Dramatic Short: Alina (US) Director: Rami Kodeith
