FOR-A Corporation (Booth C5408) and MultiDyne (Booth C3933) will each have a presence at the upcoming NAB Show in Las Vegas, which kicks off next week.

In advance of NAB, FOR-A Corporation has announced a range of IP production solutions powered by broadcast-optimized transport technology from AMMUX.

The new REMI product range is part of FOR-A’s new architecture of “Software-Defined IP Solutions,” integrated with software-based IP technology from AMMUX. With low latency encoding and decoding and secure RIST (Reliable Internet Stream Transport), the AMMUX operating system is optimized specifically for broadcast applications. The RIST tunnel contains multiple streams of video, audio, data, and equipment control simultaneously. Built-in WebRTC (Web Real-time Communication) provides free access to files from anywhere via a web browser, without the need for a specific player or gateway.

“Our unique IP technology provides robust and reliable transport on FOR-A’s Software-Defined IP platform,” said Sergio Ammirata, Chief Scientist at AMMUX. “Multiple high-quality video, audio, and data streams can be processed and then delivered through a secure RIST tunnel and content is accessible from anywhere using WebRTC. Plus, all of our technology is software-based and can be utilized within any cloud-based production environment.”

“This is a significant step forward as we advance our remote production and IP capabilities,” said Katsuaki Kiyohara, President and Representative Director at FOR-A. “We look forward to expanding our relationship with AMMUX and integrating its IP transport technology into our entire FOR-A ecosystem.”

“With AMMUX inside our Software-Defined IP platform, it ensures flexible and reliable IP transport that’s tightly integrated with FOR-A’s new FA-1616 multi-purpose signal processor. We’re highly optimistic about future development of our end-to-end, cloud-based live production solutions,” added Satoshi Kanemura, President of FOR-A Corporation of America.

AMMUX, a spin-off of SipRadius, was founded by a number of talented technologists with a great deal of experience in networked multimedia streaming in particular. The company delivers multiple IP solutions to the broadcast and cable industry for live production, post-production, and IP test and measurement products. Its complete line of software-based Linux embedded platforms with low latency media stream delivery range from SMPTE 2110, SDI, ASI, RF, and NDI. Its product line features the new RIST error correction protocol standard and adds unique one-to-many and many-to-one “routing” options that enhance the ability to route high-quality streams to all the locations they need to go.

FOR-A, a worldwide, industry-leading manufacturer, offers a wide range of broadcast and production products with a focus on cutting-edge technologies, including HD, 4K, and IP products. FOR-A continues to offer future-ready, cost-effective, advanced technology solutions. Products include: video switchers, routing switchers, multi-viewers, full 4K high-speed cameras, IP encoders/decoders, multi-channel signal processors, 8K/4K/HD test signal generators, color correctors, frame synchronizers, file-based products, character generators, video servers and much more.

Meanwhile, MultiDyne is excited to get back to in-person meetings and demos at NAB, where their technical sales staff will be exhibiting new solutions and applications.

MultiDyne will be showing the new HUT-APE Advanced Power Extension system for use with Grass Valley, Sony, and select Panasonic cameras. HUT-APEs convert SMPTE hybrid fiber to standard single-mode fiber and back to SMPTE with the ability to power the camera up to 3km away.

Just like MultiDyne’s popular SMPTE-HUT systems, the new HUT-APE can be combined with the FiberSaver Series of wavelength shifting multiplexers to get up to 9x SMPTE camera chains over one single-mode optical fiber.

The MultiDyne OG-4600 is the hub and their industry-leading transport platforms are the spokes when it comes to stadium, campus, and metro fiber-optic links. Its support for multiple 12G/3G-SDI along with audio, intercom, Ethernet, data, timecode, and genlock make the OG-4600 the Swiss army knife of connectivity.

Elsewhere, the newest addition to MultiDyne’s Census Series of audio monitors brings support for Dante audio over IP. This line of product’s excellent sound quality and ease of use are now available for Dante audio workflows.

And finally, the SilverBack-VB Fiber Camera Adapter provides multiple options for budget-sensitive projects and still has the features you’ve come to expect from MultiDyne’s award-winning digital cinema camera extensions systems.
