Rainey’s House – The Art Room

The Set Decorators Society of America (SDSA) and its SETDECOR magazine has offered another great “Inside the Set with SETDECOR,” which takes a look at Starz‘s series, Blindspotting.

In the piece, SETDECOR talks with Set Decorator Kimberly Leonard SDSA about the logistical challenges of set decorating in the early days of COVID protocols on set, collaborating with co-creators Daveed Diggs and Rafael Casal as well as Production Designer Adam Davis, and building the Rainey’s home.

Because the Rainey house captures the personalities of its occupants, much emphasis was placed on the details. Each room tells a story, and Leonard reveals how something as small as using newspaper specifically from Idaho, or finding regionally-specific radiators on Craigslist to put into the home helped to piece the final image together for the Blindspotting sets.

You can read the full feature and see more great pictures over at SETDECOR.
