More Emmy nomination reactions are pouring in — the latest batch from the team behind the Disney+ shows The Book of Boba Fett and Star Wars: Visions.

The latter series is an animated anthology series produced by Lucasfilm Animation, which tapped seven Japanese animation studios to bring their unique perspectives to the Star Wars universe through a series of short films, with “The Duel” being nominated for Outstanding Short Form Animated Program.

Disney+ offered written statements from Boba Fett‘s costume designer and stunt coordinator as well as a pair of VFX supervisors, while several Lucasfilm execs celebrated the success of Visions. I’ll let them take it from here…

THE BOOK OF BOBA FETT

Richard Bluff, Overall Visual Effects Supervisor – Outstanding Special Visual Effects in a Season or a Movie:

“This Visual Effects Emmy nomination is a great honor and we’re thrilled to share this with all the artists, production, and support staff at Industrial Light & Magic and all of our vendor partners worldwide. Their exceptional artistry and dedication to their craft continues to inspire and amaze audiences and I feel incredibly humbled to work alongside them.”

JJ Dashnaw, Stunt Coordinator – Outstanding Stunt Coordination for a Drama Series, Limited or Anthology Series or Movie:

“I am honored and very grateful for being given the opportunity to come aboard this amazing show and team. An extra thanks to Robert Rodriguez for bringing me with him, and for Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni for welcoming me and letting me be a part of their family. And to my amazing stunt team/friends for their hard work and trust. To the fans and the TV Academy, thank you very much for the recognition. Very grateful.”

John Rosengrant, Legacy Effects Supervisor – Outstanding Special Visual Effects in a Season or a Movie:

“I’m truly thrilled that the work by this team and all the hard-working people alongside of us are being recognized for the Outstanding Special Visual Effects created for The Book of Boba Fett. A special thanks to Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni for their vision and great leadership. Personally from me a huge shout out to my fantastic team at Legacy Effects.”

Shawna Trpcic, Costume Designer – Outstanding Fantasy/Sci-fi Costumes:

“I am so incredibly honored by the nomination for The Book of Boba Fett. I share this nomination with an incredible group of artisans, manufacturers, tailors, and builders. I am so grateful to Jon Favreau, Dave Filoni, and Robert Rodriguez for this amazing adventure.”

STAR WARS: VISIONS

Lucasfilm executives James Waugh (SVP Franchise Content & Strategy), Jacqui Lopez (VP Franchise Production), Josh Rimes (VP Animation Development & Production), Executive Producers, “The Duel” – Outstanding Short Form Animated Program:

“We are thrilled for Star Wars: Visions to receive this nomination. Star Wars: Visions was created to be a collection of celebratory expressions of Star Wars storytelling through the lens of creators who are experts at their craft. The bold expressions of anime and the depth of imagination and world-building that art form provides fit so well with Star Wars, and we’re thrilled that the Emmy Awards recognized this with the nomination for Outstanding Short Form Animated Program.

We’re excited for our friends at Kamikaze Douga, the studio behind the nominated episode “The Duel,” to wake up to this exciting news. On behalf of Lucasfilm, congratulations to director Takanobu Mizuno, writer Takashi Okazaki, and all of the talented artists and animators who brought “The Duel” to life.”
