FOR-A Corporation was recently honored with a TV Tech Best of Show 2022 Award for its FA-1616 multi-channel signal processor. With its software-defined architecture, the FA-1616 supports the industry’s rapid shift from Serial Digital Interface (SDI) to Internet Protocol (IP). Because broadcasters must protect their current hardware investment, FOR-A has developed a new line of products, including the FA-1616, that provide a flexible, cost-effective gateway to the IP world.

The TV Tech Best of Show 2022 Awards recognize those outstanding products and solutions from the technology and media industries exhibited at this year’s NAB show in Las Vegas, with entries being considered for their innovation, prowess, and capabilities. The FA-1616 has been given this accolade following a rigorous judging process that evaluated value for money, feature set, ease of use, and the general merits of what it can offer users.

“With live events coming back to the forefront and becoming commonplace again, this year’s Best of Show Awards were expected to be more competitive than ever — and they didn’t disappoint,” said Tom Butts, Content Director for TV Tech. “The amount of entries matched the positive attendance at this year’s show and selecting the winners proved to be challenging. Those who have won can know that their solution was truly outstanding and impressed our judges, as all entries received were of a high level.”

“We’re delighted that FA-1616 has been recognized by the TV Tech judging panel,” added Satoshi Kanemura, President of FOR-A Corporation of America. “This award reaffirms our belief that a software-defined architecture is the ideal solution for a cost-effective migration from SDI to media-over-IP. Adding new functionality through software means the customer can configure the system to their needs, without additional hardware investment. It also means that hybrid production, using a variety of signal formats, can be easily accomplished. This kind of agile solution is what drives FOR-A, and the kind of innovative thinking that powers all FOR-A products. We are very thankful for this recognition from TV Technology.”

With SMPTE ST-2110 and ST-2022 I/F protocols, the FA-1616 is an optimal gateway between SDI and IP as well as IP to IP and SDI to SDI, which is ideal for SDI & IP hybrid operation. The FA-1616 multi-channel signal processor series includes three models. Each provides either 16 input/16 output, selectable 16 I/O, or selectable 32 I/O – allowing the user to configure the system to suit their needs.

Meanwhile, For-A also recently announced its 12G- and IP-enabled focus at next month’s InfoComm 2022 in Las Vegas. FOR-A will showcase its range of IP production solutions powered by transport technology from AMMUX and demonstrate its system for deploying 12G-SDI 4K live production. The live production package includes the HVS-1200 video switcher, MFR-1000 routing switcher, and the FA-9600 multi-purpose signal processor, which provides optimal color correction on large displays. FOR-A will exhibit in Booth #N5444 during the show at the Las Vegas Convention Center, running from June 8-10.

FOR-A offers a wide range of broadcast and production products with a focus on cutting-edge technologies, including HD, 4K, and IP products. FOR-A continues to offer future-ready, cost-effective, advanced technology solutions. Products include video switchers, routing switchers, multi-viewers, full 4K high-speed cameras, IP encoders/decoders, multi-channel signal processors, 8K/4K/HD test signal generators, color correctors, frame synchronizers, file-based products, character generators, video servers and much more.
