The Make-Up Artists and Hair Stylists Guild has unveiled the nominees for its 9th annual awards show, which is slated to take place in person on Feb. 19 at the Beverly Hilton Hotel.
Coming 2 America, The Eyes of Tammy Faye, House of Gucci and The Suicide Squad led the feature nominations with three nods apiece, while Cruella, Dune and No Time to Die all received two nods. All seven of those movies are on this year’s Oscar shortlist along with Nightmare Alley, West Side Story and Cyrano, the latter of which was the only shortlisted title omitted from the MUAHS nominations.
Last year, Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom won a pair of MUAHS Awards before taking home the Oscar.
As previously announced, the guild (IATSE Local 706) will bestow its Lifetime Achievement Awards upon Oscar and Emmy-winning make-up artist Michèle Burke (Mission Impossible franchise) as well as Emmy-winning hair stylist Joy Zapata (A Star is Born).
The MUAHS Awards also honor achievements in television, commercials, music videos and live theater. The complete list of nominations follows:
