ZEISSThe Society of Camera Operators (SOC) and ZEISS are teaming for a virtual webinar titled, Practical Applications of Large Format Cinematography, to take place on Sunday, January 17 at 11am PST.

The free online session will allow SOC members to “delve into the creative and technical capabilities of shooting in full-frame or large format vs. Super35.” It will be presented by ZEISS Cine Sales Director Snehal Patel and co-hosted by SOC President George Billinger, SOC. All your questions will be answered… or as many as they can get to.

You can register for this panel HERE.

From the official description:

Are you one of the viewers that made The Queen’s Gambit the most-watched limited series on Netflix? Or perhaps you’re a superfan of HBO’s Lovecraft Country? What these shows – plus features such as Downton Abbey and the upcoming Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom – have in common is the cinematographers’ tool of choice: ZEISS Supreme Primes, a full-frame 13-lens set ranging of cinematic lenses from 18mm-200mm with an additional focal length of 15mm to be released in 2021.

What is the role of optics in the audience viewing experience? How can large format technology be utilized to create an emotional impact?
