Quantel announced the appointment of Chris Steele to the position of senior product manager, broadcast. Steele will be responsible for bringing Quantel’s revolutionQ software production system through the final stages of development and introducing it to the broadcast market around the world.

“We’re delighted that Chris Steele has joined us at this key time for Quantel,” said Steve Owen, Quantel marketing director.

Steele began his career operating one of the industry’s first animated graphics systems at ITN. He then joined the supplier side of the industry and was involved in the development and marketing of advanced computer graphics, special effects and workflow systems with several companies. More recently Steele has acted as a consultant to a number of companies, including The Foundry, Pixel Power and Marquis Broadcast.

“Joining Quantel at this exciting time in the company’s ongoing development was an opportunity I had to grasp with both hands,” Steele said. “What Quantel is doing with revolutionQ is forward-looking and daring. Most companies that are established in a particular market shy away from disruptive technologies. Not so Quantel – revolutionQ has the potential to completely change how broadcasters go about production, and I’m looking forward to helping its development and showing the industry its enormous potential.”
