Mad Box Delivers Post Supervision and Finishing for Muhammad Ali Feature Film

-

Richmond, Va.-based post house Mad Box is currently providing on-set services for The Last Punch, a feature film about Muhammad Ali‘s last fight, which is currently shooting in Atlanta. Directed by Jesse Vaughn, the film follows the true story of a hustling promoter, on the run from the law, who put everything on the line to give Muhammad Ali one last fight. In Atlanta, the Mad Box crew is handling the daily post operations, from dailies to visual effects supervision. Post supervisor, Chris Williams is working closely with editor Stuart Waks (Ali, Any Given Sunday) in Los Angeles, editing the picture as they film.

This fall, when editorial is complete, colorist Matt West will finish the film back at Mad Box’s Richmond studio on a Da Vinci Resolve system, grading the Red Epic 5K files and outputting 4K masters for theatrical printing and distribution.

The Last Punch is Mad Box’s eighth feature film project since the company opened its doors.

“We got into this business as directors and editors because of our love for movies,” said Chris Allen Williams, owner of Mad Box Post. “Our experience with distribution after our first movie, Border Town, puts us in a great position of being one of a few companies who know the film distribution landscape outside of the major markets of N.Y. and Los Angeles.”
