Make-Up Artists and Hair Stylists Guild Awards Slated for Feb. 15

IATSE Local 706 president Susan Cabral-Ebert announced that the Make-Up Artists and Hair Stylists Guild Awards honoring outstanding achievements in motion pictures, television, commercials and live theater will return on Feb. 15 at Paramount Studios.

“The members are excited to have the Local 706 Guild Awards return this year,” said Cabral-Ebert.

The entry and voting timeline for the 2014 Make-Up Artists and Hair Stylists Guild Awards is:

  • Nov. 26 – Submissions for motion pictures, television, commercials, mini-series/movies-of-the-week and cable open online at www.local706.org.
  • Dec. 31 at 5:00 p.m. (PST) – Submissions close.
  • Jan. 13 – Nominations announced.
  • Jan. 21 – Final ballot on-line voting begins.
  • Feb. 11 at 5:00 p.m. (PST) – Final ballot on-line voting ends.
  • Feb. 15 – Winners announced at the Local 706 Make-Up Artists and Hair Stylists Guild Awards Event.

Animated Storyboards Opens Toronto Office

Animated Storyboards announced that it has launched a new office in Toronto. Maria Hanafy will lead the new studio as managing director, along with four additional staffers - a director, producer, marketing associate and animator/editor. This marks the 10th office for Animated Storyboards, with offices in New York, Chicago, Los Angeles, London, São Paulo, Bangkok, Tel Aviv, Düsseldorf and Shanghai. The 4,300-square-foot office will collaborate closely with sister facilities, whose global infrastructure currently includes nearly 300 full-time in-house illustrators, designers, directors, producers and 2D and 3D artists. The facility includes three edit suites, a state-of-the-art audio studio, a conference room and a spacious lobby area for client use.
