ATSC Board Of Directors Members Elected

Members of the Advanced Television Systems Committee Inc. have elected four experienced industry executives to serve on the ATSC Board of Directors for three-year terms that begin in January 2020, while two directors were appointed to the ATSC board by their respective professional associations.

Current directors who were re-elected are Dr. Jong Kim, LG Electronics, and Pete Sockett, Capitol Broadcasting. Two previous Board Chairmen – Richard Friedel, Fox Television Stations, and former NBC Universal executive Glenn Reitmeier, GlennReitmeierTV LLC – are returning to the board after being term-limited in 2018.

Dave Siegler, who previously represented Cox Media Group on the ATSC Board, was appointed to the board by the Society of Motion Picture & Television Engineers (SMPTE). Former ATSC Board Chairman Wayne Luplow, formerly with Zenith Electronics, was appointed by the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) as its 2020 ATSC board representative.

Animated Storyboards Opens Toronto Office

Animated Storyboards announced that it has launched a new office in Toronto. Maria Hanafy will lead the new studio as managing director, along with four additional staffers - a director, producer, marketing associate and animator/editor. This marks the 10th office for Animated Storyboards, with offices in New York, Chicago, Los Angeles, London, São Paulo, Bangkok, Tel Aviv, Düsseldorf and Shanghai. The 4,300-square-foot office will collaborate closely with sister facilities, whose global infrastructure currently includes nearly 300 full-time in-house illustrators, designers, directors, producers and 2D and 3D artists. The facility includes three edit suites, a state-of-the-art audio studio, a conference room and a spacious lobby area for client use.
