The International Alliance of Theatrical and Stage Employees has gone on strike against NBC reality-show hit The Biggest Loser and its producers, IA president Matthew Loeb announced on November 10. The show is currently filming its 10th season.

The goal of the work stoppage, according to Loeb, is to obtain a contract for IA members working on the show in line with agreements the Directors Guild of America and the American Federation of Television & Radio Artists already have in place with producers Reveille Productions, 25/7 Productions and 3 Ball Productions.

The strike is the result of “a unanimous decision by members of the production crew that they get a contract similar to others covering these types of productions, and we are resolute in getting it for them,” said the IA president.
