Many Crafts, One Fight Rally To Kick-Off Crew Unions Negations with The AMPTP

-

The Hollywood crew unions are kicking off pre-negotiations with the AMPTP with a bang that will certainly make the suits take notice. On Sunday, March 3rd, at Woodley Park in Encino, California, the crew unions are hosting a can’t-miss rally. The passion will boil before bargaining with the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers begins the next day, Monday, March 4th.

In this year’s negotiation cycle, the unions want to address the paramount priorities of each craft team to “protect, preserve, and improve economic gains, retirement, and health benefits, and ensure safe working conditions on and off set.” It’s a historic time for these unions, hence why the rally is a can’t-miss event for anyone involved in the industry.

For the first time since 1988, IATSE, Teamsters, and the Hollywood Basic Crafts will collectively negotiate health and pension benefits for their members under the shared Motion Picture Pension and Health Plan. IATSE will also further negotiations on their IATSE Hollywood Basic Agreement and the IATSE Area Standard Agreement contracts, plus address local union-specific issues. Additionally, Teamsters and Hollywood Basic Crafts will negotiate with the AMPTP in June for their local classification-specific issues.

As for the upcoming rally, here’s the what, who, and where:

WHAT: Negotiations Kick-Off Crewmember Rally with Speaker program including prominent Labor Leaders.

WHO: Organizing Unions are IATSE, Teamsters, IBEW, OPCMIA, LiUNA! and UA on behalf of their members about to enter negotiations with the AMPTP. All of Hollywood Labor are welcomed and encouraged to attend.
