Company 3 Offers $50,000 in Post Services to Best Documentary Winner at SXSW Film Festival

Post house Company 3 announced its sponsorship of the SXSW Best Documentary Award at the SXSW Film Festival this year. The winning filmmaker will receive $50,000 in post services from Company 3 towards the completion of his or her next feature.

Company 3 is known for digital intermediate color grading on major blockbuster features, including Oz: The Great and Powerful, and the upcoming Man of Steel and Star Trek: Into Darkness, but the company also caters to the indie film community. Company 3 recently posted projects including the critically acclaimed drama The Sessions, HBO’s popular Rolling Stones documentary Crossfire Hurricane and festival favorites Robot & Frank and The Spectacular Now.

Company 3 also performed color grading and other postproduction services on films to be screened at SXSW this year, including:

Sequin Raze (colorist Siggy Ferstl)
Skin (colorist Anthony Raefelli)
The Spectacular Now (colorist Sean Coleman)
Spring Breakers (colorist Stephen Nakamura)
Touba (colorist Siggy Ferstl)

“Company 3 has always been a part of the independent film scene, and we intend to keep it that way in the future,” said Company 3 president and founder Stefan Sonnenfeld.

Animated Storyboards Opens Toronto Office

Animated Storyboards announced that it has launched a new office in Toronto. Maria Hanafy will lead the new studio as managing director, along with four additional staffers - a director, producer, marketing associate and animator/editor. This marks the 10th office for Animated Storyboards, with offices in New York, Chicago, Los Angeles, London, São Paulo, Bangkok, Tel Aviv, Düsseldorf and Shanghai. The 4,300-square-foot office will collaborate closely with sister facilities, whose global infrastructure currently includes nearly 300 full-time in-house illustrators, designers, directors, producers and 2D and 3D artists. The facility includes three edit suites, a state-of-the-art audio studio, a conference room and a spacious lobby area for client use.
