Chicago-based production company Sarofsky has just handled its fifth main title project for MarvelStudios, Doctor Strange’s end credits sequence. Founded by Erin Sarofsky, the company has previously work on Guardians of the Galaxy, Captain America: The Winter Soldier, and Ant-Man among others. Below The Line presents a gallery of their beautifully rendered visuals with a few words from Sarofsky herself.
“The team at Marvel chose one of the concepts we had developed. So while they do guide the process and provide feedback at milestones… we had ultimate creative freedom, because we initially developed the idea in a vacuum.”
“There was so much for us to draw from in the film for inspiration. The production design definitely inspired the mandalas and symmetrical movements in general.”
“[Marvel Studios] designed a very intricate and insane look for the deconstructed landscapes; it’s like Escher came back to life and started doing VFX work. We wanted to develop a kaleidoscopic, symmetrical look without using plugins.”
