The 2021 California On Location Awards (COLA) were announced on Sunday, Nov. 14, at a virtual ceremony, with Warner Bros‘ The Matrix Resurrections, Amazon Prime Video‘s Bosch, the HBO series Insecure, and the features Dog and Top Gun: Maverick each being honored for the location professionals involved with the shows.
The finalists for COLA all utilized locations throughout California and were “ambitious and professional in enhancing their individual productions.”
The Matrix Resurrections received the prize for best location team for a studio feature, while Bosch won the same prize for a one-hour episodic television series. In turn, Insecure received the same prize for a half-hour episodic, while the show’s location manager, Carolyn Schultz, also received a COLA.
The location manager of the year prize for a studio feature went to Mike Fantasia, who performed the role on Top Gun: Maverick.
