The 78th Annual Golden Globes were given out on Sunday night, February 28, by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA) in a virtual ceremony hosted by Tina Fey and Amy Poehler from the Rainbow Room in New York City and Beverly Hilton in Los Angeles.
The Seachlight and Hulu release, Nomadland, was the big winner for Best Motion Picture Drama while Director Chloé Zhao won for Director. The late Chadwick Boseman and Andra Day won the Golden Globes for Best Actor and Actress in a Film Drama, respectively, while Sacha Baron Cohen and Rosamund Pike won the same awards in the Comedy/Musical categories. (Cohen’s Borat Subsequent Moviefilm won for Comedy/Musical.)
Netflix‘s The Crown won the most Golden Globes, one for Best Television Drama and then three acting awards for Emma Corrin, Josh O’Connor and Gillian Anderson. Schitt’s Creek won for Television Musical/Comedy along with actress Catherine O’Hara, while Jason Sudeikis won a Golden Globe for hisApple TV+series, Ted Lasso. Netflix’s The Queen’s Gambit won two Golden Globes in the Limited Series category.
