The Make-Up Artists and Hair Stylists Guild announced that online voting for its annual awards show is now open. Active and retired members in good standing can vote at the guild’s website, http://local706.org. The deadline for voting is 5 p.m. PST, Jan. 6.
Scheduled for February 2015 at Paramount Studios Theatre in Hollywood, the awards honor both make-up artists’ and hair stylists’ outstanding achievements in motion pictures, television, commercials and live theater.
Nominees from six competitive categories including best contemporary makeup, best period and/or character makeup, best special makeup effects, best contemporary hair styling and best period and/or character hair styling will be announced on Jan. 8. Oscar-winning makeup artist Rick Baker and Emmy-nominated hair stylist Kathryn Blondell will receive this year’s lifetime achievement awards.
