Oscar Voting Starts Today

-

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has announced that final voting for the Oscars officially opened Feb. 8 at 8 a.m. PST and will end February 19 at 5 p.m. PST.

Members of the Academy may vote in up to 24 categories. This year, for the first time, voting members will be eligible to vote in documentary feature, animated short film and live action short film categories.

Academy members may cast paper ballots or vote online. PriceWaterhouseCoopers will tabulate and verify the results.

“We’re looking forward to a continuation of the high turnout we saw during the nominations phase,” Academy COO Ric Robertson said.

Oscars for outstanding film achievements of 2012 will be presented Feb. 24, at the Dolby Theatre at Hollywood & Highland Center, hosted by Seth MacFarlane. The Oscar presentation will be televised live on the ABC Television Network.
