SDSA Awards: Everything Everywhere All at Once Named Best Picture; Three Other Oscar Nominees Honored

-

The Set Decorators Society of America (SDSA), which, despite its name, is an international organization, has named DanielsEverything Everywhere All at Once as its Best Picture of 2022. The film featured Set Decoration from Kelsi Ephraim, SDSA with Production Design by Jason Kisvarday. EEAAO also won a second award for Best Décor/Design of a Sci-Fi Feature.

On Tuesday afternoon, the group handed out a half-dozen statues at the 2022 SDSA Film Awards, which celebrate excellence in the art of set decoration for film. The awards were announced by SDSA Executive Director Gene Cane along with JoAnn Vara, who sits on the Board of Directors, from the RC Vintage Prop House in North Hollywood, and the announcement was live-streamed on the SETDECOR YouTube channel.

Three other Best Picture nominees at this year’s Oscars were honored for their set decoration efforts, including Elvis, Tár, and Top Gun: Maverick, though the latter two films actually tied for Best Decor/Design of a Contemporary Feature. Elsewhere, Roald Dahl’s Matilda the Musical and the Nicolas Cage movie The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent tied for Best Decor/Design of a Comedy or Musical.
