The New York Women in Film & Television (NYWIFT) have announced several strategies to help their members in response to the coronavirus. The first of which is an online survey for members to keep the NYWIFT informed of the impact COVID-19 has had on their role in the media and entertainment industry.
NYWIFT Talks, a weekly series that will bring updated news and information about the impact of COVID-19 on the industry, will have industry professionals discussing news on theatrical releases, digital advances, virtual tools, festival opportunities, production updates and more.
Programmer Barbara Vasconez has made member programming available online, and the membership team Katie Chambers and Sara Tandoi have put together a comprehensive directory of what is available to the members, which is live on their homepage and will be updated. Action and concerns can be expressed to the government officials in the sample letter sent by NYWIFT Board member Kathryn O’Kane to her representatives.
