Location Managers to Host Panel Discussion at Comic-Con 2015

-

The Location Managers Guild of America (LMGA) will host a panel discussion entitled “Hollywood Location Scouts,” July 9 from 4:15-5:15 p.m. at Comic-Con International 2015. The panelists will share insights on scouting and managing locations for major motion pictures.

The panel will address the behind-the-scenes work that bridges the gap between imagination and reality during the production of major motion pictures as well as the challenges of how those incredible locations are found by the scouts, modified by the crew and managed logistically prior to and during the filming.

This year’s panel features LMGA members Nick Carr (Spider-Man 3, Enchanted), Stephenson Crossley (Fear the Walking Dead, Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen), Stacey McGillis (Guardians of the Galaxy, The Infiltrator), Kei Rowan-Young (Django Unchained, Chef), Scott Trimble (Terminator: Genisys, Jurassic World) and Steve Woroniecki (Tomorrowland, X-Men: First Class).

Vicon Introduces Mobile Mocap at SIGGRAPH

1
Motion capture systems developer Vicon is previewing a futuristic new “Mobile Mocap” technology at SIGGRAPH 2011 in Vancouver. Moving mocap out of the lab and into the field, Vicon's Mobile Mocap system taps several new technologies, many years in the making. At the heart of Mobile Mocap is a very small lipstick-sized camera that enables less obtrusive, more accurate facial animation data. The new cameras capture 720p (1280X720) footage at 60 frames per second. In addition, a powerful processing unit synchronizes, stores, and wirelessly transmits the data, all in a tiny wearable design.
