ZEISS will show off their high-end cine optics, including the US introduction of the new wide 15mm T1.8 lens (which completes the 14 lens Supreme Prime set) at the upcoming NAB Show in Las Vegas, where the company will welcome clients at Booth #C7718.

Attendees can also experience the Supreme Prime Radiance family, which is known for its ability to produce stunning blue flares. Glass enthusiasts can also check out the CZ.2 full-frame Cinema Zooms and CP.3 cinematography lenses, as well as an array of optics for videography.

Also being premiered is a brand new VFX studio software solution that opens the door to a whole new workflow ecosystem. The team from ZEISS Oberkochen will be on hand to take guests through this groundbreaking digital solution.

Known for its educational Cinematography Conversations series, ZEISS will host four informative “Conversations” at their booth in the Central Hall, which will also be live-streamed online.

The first of the ZEISS Conversations at NAB kicks off on Sunday, April 24 at 2 p.m. with “Meet the ZEISS Supreme Prime 15mm.” For this long-awaited product unveiling, Christophe Casenave, ZEISS’ Head of Products and Sales — Cinematography, will introduce the final focal length in the Supreme Prime family. DP Matt Ryan will round out the conversation by relaying his experiences shooting with the rest of the family, giving his insights on the new 15mm. Watch it here.

The second ZEISS Conversation, “Celebrating Women in Cinema,” will take place on Monday, April 25 at noon. Tema Staig, the Executive Director of Women in Media, will moderate a conversation with DP Bianca Halpern, who also owns the boutique LA rental house BE CINE. They will explore Halpern’s career journey and new opportunities for women, including WIM’s new ZEISS Altitude Award. Watch it here.

On Monday at 2 p.m., ZEISS Conversations interviews Serguei Saldívar Tanaka, AMC. Mexico’s esteemed cinematographer will discuss past projects as well as his upcoming series Horario Estelar. He will also speak about using Supreme Prime Radiance lenses to get his distinctive look on the action-thriller. The final ZEISS Conversation at NAB, “A Flare for ZEISS Supreme Radiance Lenses,” will be held Tuesday, April 26 at 2 p.m. ZEISS exec Snehal Patel, who serves as Head of Cinema Sales for the Americas, will present a technical discussion of Radiance development, flare creation and flare characteristics. Vicon Introduces Mobile Mocap at SIGGRAPH

Motion capture systems developer Vicon is previewing a futuristic new “Mobile Mocap” technology at SIGGRAPH 2011 in Vancouver. Moving mocap out of the lab and into the field, Vicon's Mobile Mocap system taps several new technologies, many years in the making. At the heart of Mobile Mocap is a very small lipstick-sized camera that enables less obtrusive, more accurate facial animation data. The new cameras capture 720p (1280X720) footage at 60 frames per second. In addition, a powerful processing unit synchronizes, stores, and wirelessly transmits the data, all in a tiny wearable design.
