Click 3X Expands Live-Action Roster with Jonathan Yi and Simon Blake

-

Click 3X recently announced an expansion of its live-action division with the additions of Jonathan Yi and Simon Blake. The pair joins a roster including director/designer/animator Juan Delcan, director and visualist Mark Szumski and the comedy directing team of Josh + Vince. The team is led by managing director Jason Mayo, special consultant for commercial production Steve Wax, and senior live-action producer Belinda Mayne.

“Jon and Simon are excellent additions to our Click 3X lineup, highlighting the company’s continuing commitment to talent-driven work,” said Wax. “Our 70-person staff is stocked with creative artists who will provide extensive support on Jon and Simon’s projects.”

Blake is best known for his conceptual mixed-media approach, which blends a hand-made look with cutting-edge digital techniques. He has worked for major brands such as AT&T, Coca-Cola, Microsoft, Chase, Burger King and United Airlines. He has also completed a number of short films and viral videos, including Domestic Intelligence, Minotaur, “World Gone Pretty” for Levi’s 501, and one of the first HD films for the series Dreams (a Sony/Y&R collaboration).

Yi’s stylish “naturalism” can be seen in his extensive documentary work. He is known for his careful preparation, ability to draw subjects out of their shells and beautiful style. His clients in the advertising world include Nike, Intel, Smirnoff, JetBlue, Microsoft, SAP, TD Ameritrade and Schick. Outside of the ad space, Yi has been directing HBO’s award-winning series East of Main Street, and has shot projects for Twisted Sister, Poison, Daniel Johnston, Mates of State and The Locust. Shift, a film that Yi shot, directed and produced, has also won accolades in multiple film festivals.

The Click 3X production team has already completed 15 shoots on the recently constructed sound stage, including work for LEGO, Verizon, and American Express – to name a few. Fully equipped with audio and a RED camera, and headed by studio manager and DIT Adam Coleman, the stage has proven to be fertile ground for the company’s roster of live-action talent.
