Band Pro One World Open House 2012

-

Dozens of cameras and other equipment were on display at this year’s Band Pro One World Open House.
Band Pro Film & Digital hosted its annual One World Open House Thursday at its facility in Burbank, Calif. An estimated 1,000 industry professionals were in attendance to see some of the latest technology for the various stages of their workflow. Such professionals as Jon Fauer, ASC and special guest Villmos Zsigmond, ASC took the time to take in the exhibits and catch up with their peers. Among the hardware featured was For-A’s super-slow motion, full 4K camera, the Ft-One. Equipment from Canon, Sony, RED and Leica among many others was on display, with well-versed experts available to answer questions for inquiring minds.

“The industry is headed in the direction of the consumer,” said Band Pro president and CEO, Amnon Band. “1920×1080 never would have made it unless you could deliver the content to the consumers at home.” Band’s experience has indicated to him that the future of this industry lies more with the public and less with special events. “Unless you bring it to the homes of millions of people, you’re not going to establish a format,” he said. “That’s what we do.”
