Panasonic has officially announced its new Lumix S5 (DC-S5) camera without sharing any specific specs or even a very clear picture. Though unconfirmed by Panasonic, the specs had reportedly been leaked online, and some presume this will either be a new budget model, successor to the S1 or something else entirely. Rumors have circulated that this might be a new addition to Panasonic’s line of cameras that use the L Mount lens system.
Panasonic will hold an official launch event for the Lumix DC-S5 on Wednesday, September 2, at 10AM EDT/7AM PST. You can learn more about this event on Panasonic’s site, where it also states:
“Panasonic is committed to meeting the passionate demands of all creators through its LUMIX brand, and the new LUMIX S5 is one of the embodiments of this commitment. More information will be added and updated here and the official Instagram account @lumix until September 2, 2020.”
