This year’s CES 2023, the “global stage for innovation” presented by the Consumer Technology Association (CTA), is well underway. While it’s a mix of consumer and professional productions, it’s often attended by lens and camera manufacturer, Canon, who shared video of their CES presentation, featuring an appearance by M. Night Shyamalan, talking about his use of Canon cameras on projects, such as his Apple TV+ series, Servant, and his upcoming film, Knock at the Cabin. (Incidentally, Above the Line will have its own interview with Mr. Shyamalan sometime next week.)
Much of the focus of the presentation was to introduce Canon’s new “Kokomo,” a virtual reality platform that allows face-to-face communication in a virtual space. All one needs, as far as equipment, is a VR headset and a compatible smartphone, although Canon was showing off its new MREAL X1 Headset, as seen below.
Kokomo is on display at the Canon booth, which also ties into Knock at the Cabin.
