Picture Head has appointed Barry Nulman as president. Nulman will oversee operations at both the Picture Head facility in Hollywood and at its sister sound services facility, Audio Head, located on The Lot (formerly Warner Hollywood Studios). In his new role, Nulman will focus on market direction, client relations, business development and staff management.
A highly respected executive with a proven track record, Nulman has held senior management positions with several leading postproduction facilities and technology companies. At Avid Technologies, he led the market development in Hollywood group, and was responsible for the company’s successful deployment of its HD technologies in Hollywood. He served as president of The Post Group and expanded and grew its various business units. He also launched The Post Group’s on-air promo division to service Fox Sports Net. Previously, he served as president of Anderson Video at Universal Studios. He is an associate member of ACE and an active member of Academy of Television Arts and Sciences.
“The post industry continues to change and I couldn’t think of a better or more talented executive than Barry to take us to the next level,” said Mike Greenfield, Picture Head’s co-managing director. “He has a wealth of experience and the expertise to lead Picture Head and Audio Head into the future. We look to benefit from his creativity and innovative thinking as we expand our 3D and television divisions. He has a profound passion for the craft of filmmaking and has always been dedicated to service.”
“I have watched Picture Head evolve and grow over the last 10 years to become a true world-class leader in its field,” Nulman said. “It has the perfect blend of talent, state-of-the-art technology and dedication to service, resulting in the perfect environment for postproduction professionals.”
“The mixing, ADR and Foley stages at Audio Head are world-class and have an incredible history,” he added. “Picture Head is a ‘right-size’ boutique studio that facilitates getting things done quickly and with the flexibility needed by professionals. It has full data-centric and creative pipelines to complete any project. Post is not all science; it is still an art-form that needs flexibility and creativity so that all the budget and effort can show up on the screen. Mike and I shared many of the same philosophies and attitudes; it is an exciting time to join Picture Head.”
