ADG Gallery 800 Presents Fantastic Voyage

ADG.logo.2The Art Directors Guild Gallery 800 (ADG, IATSE Local 800) presents Fantastic Voyage, an exclusive mixed media exhibition celebrating the genres of Sci-Fi, Fantasy and the Metaphysical Realm. The public will have an opportunity to meet and mingle with the artists at the exhibit opening and hosted reception on Saturday, August 31, 2019 from 5:00 – 9:00 p.m. The Fantastic Voyage exhibition will run through November 2nd. Gallery 800 is located in the historic North Hollywood Arts District at 5108 Lankershim Boulevard.

Fantastic Voyage will feature personal artwork of over 60 artists who are ADG members including Production Designers & Art Directors; Scenic, Title and Graphic, Artists; Set Designers and Model Makers; Illustrators and Matte Artists and others who work in the motion picture and television industries. In addition, Gallery 800 will showcase the work of two legendary Art Directors who are in the ADG Hall of Fame: Harper Goff (1911-1993) best known for his work on Fantastic Voyage, 20,000 Leagues Under The Sea, Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory and Casablanca, and Dale Hennesy (1926-1981) whose credits include Fantastic Voyage, King Kong, Logan’s Run, Young Frankenstein, Sleeper, Dirty Harry, Annie and South Pacific.

Motion capture systems developer Vicon is previewing a futuristic new “Mobile Mocap” technology at SIGGRAPH 2011 in Vancouver. Moving mocap out of the lab and into the field, Vicon's Mobile Mocap system taps several new technologies, many years in the making. At the heart of Mobile Mocap is a very small lipstick-sized camera that enables less obtrusive, more accurate facial animation data. The new cameras capture 720p (1280X720) footage at 60 frames per second. In addition, a powerful processing unit synchronizes, stores, and wirelessly transmits the data, all in a tiny wearable design.
