The Set Decorators Society of America (SDSA), an international organization, has announced the timeline for its 2021 SDSA Awards, celebrating the work of Set Decorators and their colleagues with Best Achievement in Film 2021.
The SDSA AWARDS – Film 2021 categories are as follows:
BEST PICTURE
BEST ACHIEVEMENT IN DECOR/DESIGN OF A FEATURE FILM –
PERIOD
BEST ACHIEVEMENT IN DECOR/DESIGN OF A FEATURE FILM —
SCIENCE FICTION OR FANTASY
BEST ACHIEVEMENT IN DECOR/DESIGN OF A FEATURE FILM —
CONTEMPORARY
BEST ACHIEVEMENT IN DECOR/DESIGN OF A FEATURE FILM —
MUSICAL OR COMEDY
The categories are highlighting feature-length films and shall exclude documentaries and animated motion pictures.
Important Dates –
Round One: The initial voting period to determine nominees will be January 7-14, 2022. Following vote tabulations, the SDSA will announce final nominees in each category on January 17.
Round Two: The final voting period will be February 2-11.
The awards in each category will be announced on February 22.
