Set Decorators Society of America Announces “Crew-Lateral Damage” Parking Lot Sale for July 22

-

SDSA logoThe Set Decorators Society of America (SDSA) has announced a “Crew-Lateral Damage Parking Lot Sale” for Saturday, July 22, in order to increase awareness of the predicament of the thousands of people who work in the industry and the businesses who serve them.

This is part of the SDSA’s attempt to rally support for “below-the-credits” production SDSA Business Members. The group’s SDSA Business Membership is comprised of businesses offering goods and support services to the production industry, all of whom are suffering greatly due to the extended strike action.

In an effort to call attention to their plight, the SDSA has organized a “Crew-Lateral Damage Parking Lot Sale” to increase awareness of the predicament of the thousands of people who work in the industry and the businesses who serve them. Spaces will be provided in which SDSA Business Members affected by the loss of business can raise funds by selling some of their goods. Most of these vendors have never been open to the public.

There will also be industry support services on hand such as Film LA, filmla.com and The Motion Picture & Television Fund, MPTF.com, Valley Industry and Commerce Association and the Property Masters Guild.

When: Saturday July 22, 2023 10a.m.-2p.m.
Where: Parking Lot of History For Hire Prop House
7149 Fair Avenue
North Hollywood, CA 91605Who: SDSA Business Members

We are not on strike but deeply affected by the strike actions taking place and fear our livelihoods are at stake.

While we support and uphold the negotiating process between the WGA, SAG/AFTRA and the AMPTP, we know that no progress can be made if talks do not resume.

We are entering the 9th week of the work stoppage with no end in sight.
