Manhattan Edit Workshop continues its monthly series of “Sight, Sound & Story” Live Online events on August 19 at 5pm EDT with “Behind the Lens with DP John Simmons, ASC,” moderated by Snehal Patel, Cine Sales Director from ZEISS. Anyone interested in attending the online discussion should sign up in advance here.
Simmons is an Emmy-winning cinematographer for Nicky, Ricky, Dicky and Dawn in 2015 with a career that spans four decades. During this conversation, he will discuss the opportunities that helped him move up through the film industry, and how other art mediums inspired and informed his own lighting techniques as a cinematographer. He will also talk about his role on the ASC Vision Committee, which is promoting the advancement of underrepresented cinematographers in the film community.
Those who register for the event will receive a password for the event, which will take place on Vimeo Live, an hour in advance. There will also be live raffles throughout the event, but attendees must be present to win. After the panel, there will be a live Q&A networking event.
