Hollywood’s Teamsters Local 399 and the Basic Crafts unions will return to the bargaining table with the AMPTP on Jan. 19 following a month-long pause in negotiations for a new film and TV contract due to the holiday break.
The two sides opened talks back on Dec. 6 but recessed 10 days later with the holidays approaching. There will now be three more days of negotiations, which are slated to wrap up on Friday, Jan. 21.
The Teamsters Local 399 negotiations involve its “Black Book” agreement, which covers drivers, mechanics, dispatchers, and auto-service workers as well as animal trainers/handlers and wranglers working in the film and TV industry.
The Basic Crafts unions include IBEW Local 40, Studio Plumbers Local 78, Studio Plasterers Local 755, and Studio Utility Employees Local 724.
Once Teamsters Local 399 and the Basic Crafts unions come to terms with the Alliance of Motion Picture & Television Producers, the AMPTP will then hold separate talks regarding Local 399’s Location Managers Agreement and its Casting Directors Agreement, though per Deadline, there is no timetable for those discussions just yet.
